In Waldorf education students are not only encouraged to bring forward their intellectual abilities and to develop abstract thinking, but they take part in a wide range of practical and artistic activities. We understand that man’s mind, feelings and the hands’ work are equally important, and that education must keep the balance between all these parts to allow the children to achieve their full potential, a higher self-esteem and a strong motivation to proceed their studies.
The children learn knitting, crochet and sewing, work with clay, bamboos, wood, seeds and other natural materials. Moreover they fabricate and build with clay bricks, do gardening and produce organic compost or dried fruits... Because of the difficult economical situation and the unemployment in our region it is important for our students to learn all basic skills of practical handling already in the school. This will enable them to have in the future a financial income possibility, especially the pupils who won’t be able to go ahead with their school education. |
