THE 7th GRADE PRESENTS ITS
MACULELÊ SHOW
On 31st of October, the longly expected event finally took place in our school: the 7th grade’s students presented to their parents and to the other classes what they have prepared during the last months.
While the audience was gathering in our open air “cabana”, there was no sign of the 7th grade to be seen. Then teacher Tiago started to sing and to beat the rhythm, and suddenly the invisible Maculelę “warriors” answered from inside the forest. Beating their sticks and shouting loud, they came running out of the wood and took their positions, starting a long, dynamic and very well prepared choreography. All people were impressed with the students’ physical energy and perfectly performed movements. |

After a short break to change clothes, the students presented a beautiful capoeira performance and a lovely samba dance, showing to the audience how deep the African roots are integrated in our Brazilian culture. |
